Will You Co-Author my Next Crypto & Web3 Adventure?
Help me design the future of Move the Needle Newsletter. This is your space as much as it is mine. Let's build it together.
It’s been months since I last wrote. I felt a bit lost and unsure what direction I’m supposed to be taking or even if it makes a difference. I've been doing a lot of thinking lately about where I’m heading. Honestly, it feels a bit like standing at a crossroads with a bunch of intriguing paths to explore and not quite sure which one to take next.
I found it hard to grow my audience and I started feeling down🙁. I know consistency matters and I should just keep going but I also realised that I never asked my audience what do they want.
That's where you come in. I realised that the best adventures are those we embark on together, especially with likeminded people who share the same mix of curiosity and passion for uncharted territories.
So here I am asking you:
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO READ?
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO LEARN and WHY?
When I started Move the Needle my mission was to write about women in this industry, showing that women are visible, they make a difference and then educate, support those who are interesting to take active part in the future of money & tech. That’s still my core motivation.
Then I thought “How do I reach more women? Let me cover some facts and news”. In reality I’m not a journalist and I don’t enjoy regurgitating facts covered by hundreds of media outlets and influencers.
Crypto, blockchain, web3, they’re vast topics and I can’t cover it all. I don’t have a team as my goal is to educate other women, not to write about the hot topic of the hour and how many times you can X your portfolio.
The other issue I’m facing is the nature of marketing used in crypto. I obsessed over and over on what type of marketing campaign strategies to use and when I did my research I got very disappointed because it doesn’t align with my core values.
What I DON’T DO:
I won’t sell you courses promising crazy returns.
I won’t bait you with daily emails telling you how you’re missing out.
I won’t make videos telling you the eternal 5 mistakes you’re making and how you’ll never succeed without my strategies.
I’m not into pump and dump schemes, MLMs or gambling.
I don’t shill.
I’m not an “influencer” and I won’t pretend to know it all.
What I CAN DO:
Tell you all about my journey and share lessons learnt with you.
Answer any questions you may have, and I have a decade of experience in crypto to draw from.
Teach you how to start investing and build your own portfolio.
👉 My November 2022 article sheds light on invaluable lessons learned from the bear market—essential reading for anyone looking to start investing and build a resilient portfolio (at the time, BTC was 17K USD. Today it is 67K USD).Guide you through assessing your risk tolerance when investing.
Recommend sources of information or other resources that I’m not affiliated with but I know they work.
Support you in navigating wallets, exchanges, and any other centralised or decentralised tools.
Help you build or grow your career in the industry.
Learn alongside you if your question is about a topic that’s new to me too.
I am not ashamed or too proud to say “I don’t know”. Nobody can know everything and those who tell you otherwise are lying to you. Life is a learning journey in itself!
MY ASK:
I'd love to hear what's been tickling your brain lately about these topics.
Got any burning questions?
Stumbled upon a puzzle in the blockchain world you can't solve?
Or maybe there's something you're just dying to understand better?
Shoot those questions my way, in a comment or message.
Your input is going to be my compass, guiding us towards the next set of stories and explorations on the blog. Plus, it'll make sure we're talking about the stuff you actually find intriguing, useful, or downright mind-boggling.
Can't wait to see what you come up with and where it'll take us. Let's make this journey one to remember, filled with discoveries we made together.
Catch you soon!
Veronica,
Move the Needle 🙏❤️
Veronica, your piece is truly great. It's completely normal to feel the way you do as a writer - the self-doubt, delayed gratification, and everything in between. Writing can be both draining and invigorating. Take things one step at a time, and don't hesitate to ask for help. In my newsletter Girl (https://alicehlidkova.substack.com/) , I often ask my audience what they want to read about next - so thank you for asking me to co-author the next letter with you. You have helped me as a startup founder in many ways. You've made introductions, provided resources, and even flew to another country to support me. You truly live by your mission. For my birthday, I picked your brain about crypto, blockchain, and web3. You're always connecting me with other remarkable women. Because of you, I'm back in crypto, buying Bitcoin, and helping other women. Our very first interview together was wonderful; you truly embody your mission. Remember that? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1glGSjm1gLw&t=2s) As a writer myself, I'd like to learn more about low-hanging fruits for investment opportunities that doesn't require a large capital investment (one of them is BTC as you can buy a fraction of it). As a creative, I am interested in grants or securing capital to fund my writing projects. We always think of jobs or self-employment, but there are many organizations that fund the Arts. I'd also love to write for other women (ghostwriting or copy) or simply support them in their writing endeavors. One of the reasons I started Girl was to document my journey as a writer and offer support to other girls and women on their own writing/entrepreneurial journeys. I'm curious to hear more about your story and how you got into crypto - although I already know it, I believe other women could benefit from hearing it as well. Also, don't forget to ask your readers if they can share the newsletter. Remember that any worthwhile endeavor takes time before its ripple effects are felt; this is a movement. It's been a pleasure knowing you all these years.
